Channeling Cinderella...
Typical Friday.
Got up, went to class and then hung out with the Kates and Corey for a bit. Kaitlin’s sister is visiting so we all went out to lunch. I got chicken fingers and chips [aka french fries] and then felt sick. I haven’t eaten that much greasy food in quite some time so it was rough I guess. Then I walked home. It was a gorgeous Autumn day, absolutely perfect for walking around. As I got to the house I saw the boys leaving for the weekend. Typical. I went into the kitchen and realized they didn’t clean AT ALL. Now, when I say the kitchen was in a rotten state, exaggerate that 10x and you’d have my kitchen. It was nastier than a land fill thanks to the boys. They left it for me to clean. Usually I leave their mess but I certainly wasn’t going to live in it for the weekend. So I cleaned. It took me close to THREE HOURS to clean it. I had to wash every pan, plate, cup, bowl and utensil we own [The drawers and cupboard were empty because literally EVERYTHING was dirty.] I had to scrub food off the counter and table. Recycle about 20 beer and cider cans. And the list goes on and on and on. The boys are gonna get ripped a new one come Sunday night; believe you me.
After making the kitchen sparkle I watched scrubs and then made dinner. I’d call it sausage and potatoes, they’d call it ‘Bangers and mash.’ Cleaned up my dishes [never realized learning to do dishes was an actual lesson, a lesson the boys never learned. Therefore, thanks Mom] and then hung out and watched TV with the french girls. Had a lovely cup of chai with a little cinnemon on top and headed up to my room to relax for the night. AKA I’m listening to country [something I miss so much] and facebook and NASCAR’ing it up.
It’s gonna be a laid-back, quiet weekend in Plassey 5. I’m looking forward to it.
